With all due respect to the RPI student involved and without passing any
kind of judgment on the case one way or another, I do not think Cuthbert
should have been suspended when no criminal charges were brought against
him, particularly in a case as serious as this.  We saw earlier the problems
caused when the Elmira players were suspended and then cleared of any
criminal wrongdoing.  I would like to think that if Cuthbert was "just a
student" and found guilty under the law, *then* appropriate university
sanctions would be taken against him.  He should not be treated any differently
for better or worse just because he happens to play hockey.  So, I suppose
I agree with the way RPI handled the situation.
