I was forewarned not to underestimate the Salem State Vikings. After
yesterday's game (7-3 UAA), I couldn't figure out what he was talking about,
and I came to the Sullivan quite convinced that the Seawolves would have no
problem. Well, steel determination by the Vikings and great goal tending by Joe
Bonvie proved me wrong.

Both teams stepped up their play from yesterday, and this game was FAR from
being boring. Although the Seawolves pretty much dominated the game (84 shots
attempted), the Vikings took advantage of the time they did spend in the UAA
zone, and kept a very close game up until the last 2 minutes of the third
period.

Unlike last night, the power play speciality teams chugged along at 33% and 40%
for the Vikings and Seawolves respectively. The Vikings even got a short
handed goal of their own tonight after Referee Tony Mills failed to whistle TWO
prior tripping calls to Salem State.

Center Steve Bogoyevac, who scored his 17th goal this year, scored the game
winner with 1:48 left to play when he went 1-0 with netminder Joe Bonvie.
Bogey always seems to come up big when it counts, as in addition to other game
winners, he has also scored the two overtime game winning goals in the 1989 and
1990 Nissan Jeep Hockey Classics. :-)

With last night's win, the Seawolves earned their third straight 20 plus win
season, and COULD be 27-5-1 come the Independent Tournament in March.
