The recent discussion about whether a team that did not win its own
conference championship "deserves" to win the NCAA brings up an interesting
trivia question. "In those years that the NCAA champ. did not win its own
regular season, who did?"  For example, last year LSSU won the NCAA but I
believe Michigan won the CCHA.  I know of many other examples.  By the
way, I think the number of times this has happened demonstrates why there
are playoffs.
