Anyone else notice this stupid coincidence?
Rob Holmes sez...
><Brian Morris writes>:
>>The article adds that [Former UW player Dan] Plante hails from Hayward,
Wisconsin, home of the
>>Lumberjack Olympics, an old staple of ABC's Wide World of Sports. In 1989
and
>>1990 he finished seventh and eighth respectively.
>If memory serves me correctly, his 89 and 90 finishes were for LOG ROLLING.
>I don't think he competed for the overall champ, but I could be wrong.
and a few days ago David Weinberg posted results of that inane poll of most
popular sports in the nation, which reads in part...
|> 89. Unlimited Hydroplane Racing.
|> 90. Log Rolling-Pole Climbing.
|> tie. NCAA College Ice Hockey.
|> 92. Cutting Horse.
|> tie. Dog Sledding.
neat, so one must've brought him as much notoriety as the other. :-)
