The University of Maine Black Bears ran into 2 storms Saturday,
and weathered both in fine fashion. The first storm was a massive
Nor'easter which buried most of Massachusetts in 2 feet of snow(and it
was STILL coming down when we left town!!). The second storm was the
Chiefs of the University of Massachsetts-Lowell,who put a scare into
the #1 Black Bears, twice holding one goal leads, before the Bears put
it away with 3 second period goals.

I see Ryan already made a report,so I'll keep my notes brief...

It was another spectacular game for goalie Garth Snow, despite
some early difficulties,Garth played an incredible third period, making
several point blank saves, and bringing a lot of ooohs and aaahs from
crowd as he made 4 unbelieveable glove saves on shots that even I
    thought were going in...
Paul Kariya and the Ferraro twins played their last games with the
Bears until January, and played standout games. Kariya picking up 4
assists, and Peter Ferraro scored a goal. After the game Kariya
left for the Junior Championships in Sweden, and the Ferraros went
to Albany to join the US Team.
Stars of the game were Paul Kariya,Cal Ingraham and Lowell's goalie
Dwayne Roloson. The surprising attendance at the game was 1704,which
shocked me because of the weather.

Maine now prepares for the Christmas Tournaments in LA and Cleveland
and the Dexter Classic here in Orono.

I do not have the stats sheets from Friday night's game in Portland
which UMaine won 4-3. I'll try to get the stats sheet tomorrow and
     make a post.

The opinions expressed are mine. Some may agree, many will disagree.
But then, some are wise, while many are foolish. Think about it.
