Friday, November 13th:

Michigan 1 1 0 0 -- 2 16 5 12 2 -- 35

 5:45 Miami Cook(Marshall,Savage) PPG 1-0
14:30 Miami Savage(Marshall,Oates) 2-0
17:19 Mich Oliver(Halko,Harlock) 1-2
37:16 Mich Roberts(Stone,Neaton) GTG 2-2

Michigan again didn't put forth a solid effort and it cost them. In
the past, they could have struggled past Miami on an off night, but
the young Redskins gave the Wolverines all they could handle. Steve
Shields was HORRID in the Michigan net during the first period, but
settled down enough to earn the tie. Shulmistra was solid but not
spectacular in goal for Miami. The Wolverines had their chances, but
converting them continues to be a problem. I think that they are
making one too many passes in the offensive zone. What bothers me
the most is that would be superstar freshman Ryan Sittler continuously
looks for David Oliver on the ice. Several times (in several games)
Sittler has backed away from a good opportunity to set up Oliver for
a marginal one. Oliver does have 9 goals in 8 games, but his linemates
have given him at least 20-25 great chances.

Michigan goes to 4-2-2 (3-2-2 in the CCHA) and Miami 5-1-1 (4-0-1).
The two teams meet again in just over an hour. (Aside: Michigan's
football team also mustered a tie today, 22-22 vs. Illinois. With
all of the families in Ann Arbor for Parent's Weekend, there are just
too many sisters in town to be kissed. :-)
