OSU does have a mascot, but I have never seen him at a hockey game.  Brutus
Buckeye is his name and he is a guy dressed in red sweat pants with a scarlet
and grey Ohio State sweater.  His head is a giant buckeye nut with a face on
it.  Of course, he is always at football and basketball, but we all know where
OSU's priorities are in terms of those sports versus hockey.  Heck, Welsh makes
only a little more than women's synch swim coach and is about 14th on the
salary list of OSU coaches.  He is even behind, I think, the golf coach.
 
I bet that Brutus can't skate. :-)
 
As for the Elmira Eagle, a good friend of mine has skated as the mascot there
at Elmira home games, so I do know that sucker skates sometimes.
 
And John, I thought the goofiest thing to ever hit the ice at Yost was Steve
Shields.:-)  I know that the Bucks aren't far behind though.
