Well, you hit the nail on the head later on in your post.  HE teams have
wanted to schedule WCHA/CCHA teams, but since the Western teams have so
little room for nonconference games, it has been virtually impossible.
This goes back to the discussion we had a little while ago, that it will
take a concerted effort by all conferences (or at least two) to make a
commitment and increase the number of interconference games being played
in DivI.  For a number of reasons (attendance, fan interest, travel costs,
etc.), I'm not too confident of this happening.
