Alma Mater?  alma maters are slow depressing dirges.
 
in the RPI pep band, we just sang this stupid (but up-tempo) "raindrop" song at
the toll booths.  in the winter it became the stupid (down-tempo) "snowflake"
song.
 
i think the only time we didn't sing it was on this trip from Princeton, it was
3AM, and the bus driver was getting off of the NYS thruway. . . unfortunately
in the wrong direction.  (and i don't mean "he was going south when he should
have gone north," i mean "he was going north on a road on which vehicles are
meant to go south.")   after a few swears of surprise - in Smilese, he went
from :I to 8O , he managed to turn around and get on to the entrance ramp.
whew.
 
needless to say, there was a different face behind the wheel next time.
