Bales played at OSU under Jerry Welsh, so it's quite possible that he
taught the move to Moog before the game.

Bales must have been contemplating going pro for awhile, because he played
his last game in Yost as if it was to be his last game. His gesturing and
comments (yes, he skated over to both sides of the arena to exchange a few
words) smacked of someone playing his last game (and wanting to get his 2
cents in). It was uncharacteristic, as Bales was never one of the more
obnoxious goalies in the CCHA.

Anyone, he will be missed. He's the only goalie I know that was routinely
greeted with chants of "SIEVE, SIEVE, SIEVE" during the pre-game skate.
He obviously has much more talent than what he displayed in Ann Arbor,
60-70 GA in 8 games. I wish him well with the Bruins.

To Dave -- What does that leave OSU with for 1992-93? Slazyk (sp?), the
career backup was a senior this past season. Does OSU have anyone on
campus that has played a collegiate game in goal?
