Thanks very much to Andria Hunter, center for Team Canada, who posted this
information to rec.sport.hockey and encouraged me to forward it here. Both
Team Canada & Team USA feature many current and former college/university
players, as the rosters show. Canada beat the US to win the first WC in 1990
in a game televised across Canada, but all indications are that the US is back
stronger than ever and determined to take home the gold in 1992; Team Canada
is just coming together, but Team USA is rumored to have been getting together
for Saturday practices since September. Andria says she heard Team USA will
be in Lake Placid for about a week before heading to Finland for the tourney,
so North Country folks might want to keep their eyes open. Best of luck to

Opposition: An All-Star Team from the Senior AA Central
Ontario Women's Hockey League
Expected Attendance: 4000
The team will be leaving for the IIHF World Championships
in Finland the following day. The World Championships
will run from April 20th to April 26th. I'll post more
details about the time of each game at a later date.
Apparently a lot of work has went into the organization of
this exhibition game. During the intermission they will
be selling pink Team Canada Frisbees. You write your name
on your Frisbee and try to toss it into one of the nets.
Winners will receive a complete Women's Team Canada uniform.
