We'll try this one again, too.

Your message is being returned to you unprocessed because it seems to have been
already sent to the HOCKEY-L list. That is, a message with identical body (but
possibly different headers) has been posted to the list recently, either by you
or by someone else. If you have a good reason to resend this message to the
list (for instance because half of the outbound spool files were lost in a disk
crash at some intermediate node), please alter the message text in some way
before resending it. Note that altering the "Subject:" line or adding blank
lines at the top or bottom of the message is not sufficient; you should instead
add a line at the top explaining why you are re-sending the message, for the
benefit of the list membership.

It's Sunday at 2:15 PM, and I haven't received anything from the
list since Saturday afternoon, so for all I know this will repeat
something that's already been mentioned a dozen times. Be that as it
may...

Cornell defeated Yale in their ECAC quarterfinal game in New Haven
Saturday night by a score of 4-1. The game was much closer than the
score might indicate. The first period was scoreless, the second ended
tied at 1. Cornell broke the tie at 8:27 of period 3, added an
insurance goal 3 1/2 minutes later, and sealed the outcome with an
empty-netter with 21 seconds left.

Cornell continued to play the defensive-oriented style it needs in
order to be successful. Yale's high-scoring forwards--Kaufmann, Blaeser,
Ferguson, Sather, etc.--had a few good scoring chances, but Parris
Duffus was able to stop all but one of them. Most of the time, the
Cornell defense tied up the Yale forwards in the slot or cleared
the puck harmlessly to the corners. Cornell also forechecked well,
especially after opening up the two goal lead.

Kaufmann got Yale on the board at 5:46 of period 2, after a scoreless
first period, when he redirected Peter Allen's shot from the right
point through Duffus's legs. The Red tied the game at 10:11 on
freshman Jake Karam's second goal of the season, a rebound. Jason
Vogel whacked a loose puck from a faceoff past Yale goalie Todd Sullivan
at 8:27 of period three to give Cornell the lead. The Red went
scoreless on its first four power plays, but capitalized on its
next opportunity about 3 1/2 minutes later. Joe Dragon deflected
Todd Chambers's shot into Sullivan's pads, but the rebound went to
Ryan Hughes at the left of the goal, and he had nothing but net to
shoot at. Phil Nobel scored unassisted into the empty net at 19:39.
