Note: I got this rejected earlier as a duplicate posting,
but it never came through at all.  I think some others have
had the same trouble.
 
Just an aside in the midst of all this tourney and bid talk.....
 
1) There was discussion recently about games played outside the
   continental US not counting toward various season limits, but
   what about games played outside the US entirely ???
   St. Lawrence and Northeastern were both guests at a Thanksgiving
   tournament at the University of Ottawa.  They didn't end up meeting
   each other, but if they had - would it have counted in the season
   limits for either of them, and would it have shown up on the overall
   Div. I records for these teams ???
 
2) At the RPI invitational in December, the first round game between RPI
   and Union doubled as an ECAC league game.  If this game had ended as a
   tie after 60 minutes (and it looked like it might for a while), they would
   have had to play a 5-minute overtime and put a tie into the ECAC record
   books if noone scored.  Anybody who knows otherwise correct me if I'm
   wrong so far, but I would think this would have to be the case.  However,
   since it was was a first-round tourney game and they needed to determine
   who advanced to the consolation and championship games, they would have
   played on until they had a winner.  How would this have affected the
   records for these teams?  Could the game have counted as a tie in the
   ECAC but as a win or loss in the overall record ??
 
Anyone who knows the whole story on either of these points, or any of
you history buffs who know of similar situations in the past, please
let me and the rest of the world know.
 
 
BTW, when was the last time that four teams from the great state of
New York made their way to the Garden???
