A certain HE official, who I won't name, was given the axe recently, part of
the way through the season, after numerous bad reports on his performance from
coaches.  HE coaches fill out reports on the game officials immediately
after every game.  I suspect other conferences have this method of
evaluating officials, too.  But this is solid evidence that they do act
upon what the coaches say about the officials.
