That is not completely true.  Schools might not play *lesser* quality
opponents *away*, but they might schedule them early in the year to
get the kinks out.  Coaches also schedule to help out *friends* who
are trying to get some recognition for a fledgling program.  Some
schools also tie scheduling of one sport to get big payday for another
(so I agree that money plays big factor, but not determinative in all
cases).
 
I could see Quinnipiac  or UConn playing BC at BC early in
the year in the next two to three seasons.
