No flaming necessary.  You're absolutely right - after establishing itself
for a while, yes, the MAAC should probably get an auto-bid, probably even
two just like the other four conferences.  But in its first year of
existence, with almost no inter-league play?  That's what is inappropriate,
IMHO.
