Regarding the tournament sponsorship, I used to wonder why Boston University
always seemed to be the sponsor at various NCAA hockey tournament sites
(when there are so many teams in the greater Boston area).
 
I had always chalked it up to the fact that B.U. was more willing to put in
the time and effort associated with sponsoring a site (extra work for sports
information etc.).
 
Unless someone tells me otherwise, I would be inclined to apply the same
theory to the RPI/Union situation.
