Folks,

The best game I ever saw was BU's opening game of the '77-'78 season
versus New Hampshire
at Walter Brown arena. BU was the defending ECAC champs, having upset
both UNH and Clarkson
in the previous years tournament. UNH was again one of the favorites, as
the upcoming
season was seen a a rebuilding year for BU. They were particularly
suspect at goalie,
since Brian Durochure was coming off of injuries; BU's other goalie was
an unproven transefer
name Jim Craig.

Anyway, the game was certainly the rowdiest home gave I ever saw. I
remember a wide-open game
in which the lead see-sawed several times. BU eventually won in
overtime. BU only lost three
games that year, and eventually one the national championship. That
first UNH game, I believe,
set the tone for the season.

That season also included the Blizzard of '78 Beanpot game, which was
certainly my most
memorable game.
