Michigan State and Miami play to a 1-1 tie in East Lansing tonight.

Miami struck first with an even strength goal by Andreev(sp), assisted
by Tropper. At the game, most of the Spartan faithful thought Miami had
a man in the crease before the shot, therefore disallowing the goal.
However, after seeing the replay when I got home, Miami did in fact have
a man in the crease, but MSU goalie Chad Alban was outside the crease,
therefore nullifying the man in the crease rule.

MSU finally notted the game at one apiece mid-way through the 3rd Period
with a power-play tally by Sean Berens, assisted by Hodgins. The
Spartans thought they even the game up in the second period on a
short-handed goal by Mike York, but Referee John Kelly blew the play
dead because he lost sight of the puck.

The interesting stat of the night was that MSU outshot Miami 41-15 in
regulation play. I think they each had a shot or two in OT. Miami only
had 3 shots I believe in the 3rd to MSU's 15. Kudos to Miami keeper
Trevor Prior for an outstanding game. His D also helped by not allowing
any rebound chances.

Look forward to another night of good defensive hockey. Pretty clean
game with lots of action.
