It's winter carnival in Houghton Mich and the gophers are playing
Michigan Tech, what a weekend. Who's going to win the ice sculpture
carving contest.
 
The gophers will actually have 12 forwards dressed (and able to play). I
believe it was sometime in early December (at least before christmas)
that they were able to do that.
 
It will also be the first time since Thanksgiving (I think) that they'll
be playing on a NHL (small) rink.
 
Hankinson will be playing with a cast on his wrist.  So don't expect him
to hit the net with a lot of knock the goalie down slap shots.  (Like he
ever has)
 
 
Look for a split with Mich Tech losing in a close first game and then
whooping the gophers in the second game.
 
SIDE NOTE - Say a prayer for Dave Moore's family.  He was a great
broadcast journalist and a legend here in Minneapolis who passed away on
Wednesday.  He will be missed...
