Other interesting things
USA, 11:42, McInnis scored himself on a breakaway (lost the puck halfway
                past the blue line)
USA, goal called off for kicking it into the goal. Forgot who it was
                (perhaps Donatelli)

USA, 3:35, Sweeney (Emma)
USSR, 18:04, Selivanov (Volgin) (excellent goal)

lost his stick, so he kicked it ahead to Selivanov for an assist)
Penalties
USSR, 12:00?, #15 (roughing, unsportsmanlike conduct, 10 minute misconduct)
USA, 12:00?, McEachern (roughing)
Injuries:
USA, 4:46, Crowley was hit by his own teammate and was out straight on
the ice for about 5 minutes. It seemed they were checking his back, and
they had to take him off the ice with 2 men. He seemed to be limping
  with help down the corridor.

Ref: Wilkens Linesmen: Harvey, Garfalo (sp?)
US dressed 22, USSR dressed 21
Attendence: 10,819

Thoughts: The US were getting the crap beat out of them in the first
period, because they were playing a European type game and getting
beaten by the better skilled Soviet players. The 2nd period marked a
change toward physicalness, but nothing too much. The 3rd period, Team
USA was playing NHL style, and the Soviet Selects were way out of place,
getting hit and spunout all over the place. The Selects were getting
very pissed off, and all hell broke loose between McEachern and the
mysterious #15. McEachern was right by his bench and had #15 sandwiched
between his legs (being dirty). McEachern lifted his legs to "attempt"
to get in the bench, and #15 came back swinging like mad. McEachern
just stood, facing the bench, and absorbed the blows (about 4 or 5 of
them). Finally, the linesmen jumped in, but #15 kept on going after
McEachern. #15 got a 10 minute and a double minor, while McEachern only
got a roughing minor (good way to draw a penalty). But in a skilled
hockey game, the US team would have lost by a lot. When they played NHL
style against a team not used to a lot of body checking and stickwork,
they came back. The 200x85 rink made this possible.

-----
Afterthoughts: Only LeBlanc and Stauber were dressed for goal. That
mysterios Swiss player is John Fritsche. Does anyone know what happened
to Crowley? It looked pretty bad.
