Just wanted to note in response to the much-appreciated observations
on the Nissan-Jeep Classic, and in particular the UAA-NMU championship
game, that Wildcat fans were VERY impressed with the Seawolves when
they visited us during the NCAA quarterfinals last year. Given that
performance, and UAA's record this year, I am sure many of my fellow
boosters at NMU were quite concerned about the outcome of the game
last Saturday. It certainly appears that the Seawolves will be in the
postseason showdown again,
and if the draw turns out to put them in the same bracket as the Wild-
cats again, we'll be looking forward to another great game/series with
them, I guarantee you! :)

One question, BTW: the radio announcers for NMU mentioned that "the
fans here in Anchorage HATE Rick Comley because they know he is on the
NCAA selection committee." Was this an off the wall statement?" Rick
is on record as being very impressed with UAA's program, and I would
think Seawolf boosters would want a good relationship with him! (Not
that I think that would enter into his actions on the committee in any
event). I'm inclined to put the remark down to something which our
radio folks just completely misread. Any other opinions?
