I agree with Tom and Todd, and "I feel their pain". The sweep was
there for the taking, and they dropped the ball. It wouldn't have been so
bad getting beat in a good, hard fought game, but to play as lack-luster and
unmotivated as they did, it is beyond reason.

I read in the local paper that Brian Swanson, who had longer hair, got it all
chopped off into a crew cut Saturday afternoon while walking down State St.
Perhaps it had a reverse "Sampson" effect on him, but the Badgers?.?! :-(

Don't get me wrong, CC is a fine team and they deserved to win, period.
Maybe Coach Sauer should lock them all up in a hotel over "home" weekends, to
simulate being on the road.

Okay, who is Jeckyl and who is Hyde?

Wisconsin has this incredible dominance on Friday night. Friday they
outplayed CC and won 5-2. And the level of play was indicative of the
score - they seemed better at all phases of the game by about that score
difference.

Saturday, it was like night v. day. CC totally dominated the Badgers
for the first two periods and whacked them 6-2. It was as if Wisconsin
had no fire (until late in the 2nd and into the 3rd period) and just
couldn't get it on. Admittedly, Daubenspeck didn't have one of his
better games, but you can't blame the loss on him. And CC also looked a
lot more ready to play than they did Friday.

The Badgers came out fired up on Friday night, as they do every weekend.
The passing was pretty crisp, the guys skated well, and they took advantage
of CC mistakes. Granted, it didn't look like CC played as well as we know
they can, but UW was playing like they did down the stretch last year.

Then Saturday (which sucks for me because I have Saturday night tickets and
have only seen them win 3 times this year, including one on a Friday) Bucky
came out flat. CC skated circles around us, beat us to pucks,
out-physicaled us in the corners, caught Dauber on one of his off-nights,
and caught a few breaks (i.e. Brian Swanson's goal when the puck bounced out
of the CC zone, right to him coming out of the penalty box for a breakaway).
