Looking at h2hp, which shows CCHA team-team performance may explain
Miami's situation.  Current CCHA standings may be a bit suspect - there
are still 3 head-head confrontations that have had no games yet this
season (Miami-Mich, LSSU-Mich, Mich-LSSU, OSU-MSU, UAF-Ferris)
[WOOPS! bad counting - I thought I had only 3 fingers on my left hand].
However, from current standings, Miami has 16 of their 26 points from UAF
(they got a lot of standings mileage from their early season sweep
of UAF), Notre Dame, and Ohio State and haven't played Mich at all and
MSU and Bowling Green just once a piece.  Perhaps they were ranked higher
than they should have been and are just finding their level.
  Their showing against Mich this weekend could help figure it out.
This isn't to put Miami down - just to look at it in terms of the
Conference schedule.  Their loss to MSU, while close, was at home.
Ferris has an uncanny ability to bite those "above" them inthe
standings; and looked good in a tie with MSU (not that tieing MSU
is a particularly colorful feather [hope that isn't a politically
incorrect phrase]).
  Too bad PRIME doesn't have the Miami-Mich game this weekend.
