Cornell catapulted over Princeton and back into first place last night with
a strong effort against Colgate, in a game which featured effective
execution in all aspects of offense, defense, special teams, and
goaltending. The Big Red are now 6-1-0 in league, with just under a third
of their RS schedule complete.

I'd really be interested in the opinions of people who have seen the Big Red
this year about the strengths and weaknesses of Cornell's roster, and about
the individual players. Here's my "stake in the ground" for observers to
disagree with violently :-), rating each player according to four indices of
performance by a simple letter grade: A+: The best on the team (2.5 points),
A: exceptional for the team, one of Cornell's top three or four players (2
points), B: solid for the team, at or above the team- and league-wide mean
for that ability (1 point), C: else.

As far as goaltending is concerned, I would currently give ELLIOTT a solid B
for relative performance against the league's other netminders, and JMP an
incomplete (note I did not see the Yale game). Questions about my eyesight
or sanity will be fielded in good humor :-)
