After watching and listening to the Wisconsin/St. Cloud games this weekend, I
am excited at this years Wisconsin Badger team, specifically for 2 reasons.

They hustle, and hit hard, even though they aren't a very big team as a
whole.

The POWER PLAY looked good! Specifically, there were men in front of the
net. In fact there were men going to the net when a player had the puck
behind the cage. I loved it. Wisconsin teams in the recent past have been
poor on the power play, and the most glaring factor was the lack of a UW
presence in front of the net. They would pass around the perimeter, or hope
for a odd-man break. A very frustrating pattern.

Interestingly enough, with the departure of Mike Kemp, and Mark Johnson's
joining the team, the power play looks different and good. Kemp was the PP
guy recently at UW.

Granted, UW didn't score a ton this weekend, they had a lot of shots, and
there were always 2 players in front of the net looking for a pass or tip.
St. Clouds goalies, especially Saturday night did a great job and were
probobly responsible for the low Wisconsin goal output.

Yours,

Terry E. Tuschen Jr.
