The following was reported in today's UMToday publication:
 
o The University has received the anticipated "official letter
of inquiry" from the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The letter, which constitutes the next step in the process outlined last
December, is a formal notice to a member school that the NCAA intends to
investigate that school's athletics program. The letter also sets a
tentative date, its June 1-3 meeting, for the NCAA Committee on
Infractions' consideration ot UMaine's self-report.
