The Clarkson Golden Knights have received a letter of intent from Chris
DeRuiter, a 6'3" 190-pound right wing.  DeRuiter is seventeen year old and has
scored 18 goals and 18 assists in 16 games for the Kingston Voyaguers of the
Metro Junior League in Canada.
  Other schools, including Cornell, Colgate, RPI, and Western Michigan, had
expressed in interest in DeRuiter, who is highly regarded by present coach
Kevin Abrams.  "If he lasts there for three or four years, he'll be an ideal
candidate to wear a letter [ie, the captaincy].  He's already had four i
nterviews with NHL clubs."
