My read on not including Maine in the poll is as follows. I would
include them and think that they should be considered in thepoll because
of the past precedent set by the 1993 and 1994 Auburn football teams.
These teams were exceptional (1993 was undefeated), and although the NCAA
barred them from Bowl games, they were still ranked by the AP. The
rankings are to determine whom the voters feel are the best teams (ON the
ice) in the country and if you feel that Maine is one of those 10, then so
be it. The fact that they will not be lacing them up in this year's NCAAs
should be irrelevant.
