From Mike's schedule posting:
>12/09/95 North Dakota at Minnesota WC 6:05 CT TV: MSC

The Schedule on the Gopher Hockey Home Page has:

H 12/09/95 ___ ___ North Dakota ___ 9 p.m.
H 12/10/95 ___ ___ North Dakota ___ 7 p.m.

Which, I believe, is correct. The odd game time is due to two factors:
1) Finals end at Minnesota at 6:00 PM Saturday, and school rules don't
allow any athletic events during the finals period.

2) There is a basketball game scheduled for Saturday, and there is
insufficient security staff to run basketball and hockey games
concurrently. (And, of course, the exam rule prevents it from being an
afternoon game.)

For some odd reason the Athletic Department's solution to this dilema was
to schedule the basketball game first (since it's shorter) and make the
hockey team play at 9 PM. MY solution would have been to make the
basketball team play Sunday afternoon, but no one asked me. Perhaps either
Nebraska (the hoops opponent) resisted moving the game to Sunday, or there
was some financial consideration against playing Sunday afternoon. (I
smell the almighty dollar at work; MSC is also televising the basketball
game, so perhaps they feared low ratings if up against a Vikings game or
something.)

Good luck to all the Gopher hockey fans trying to find parking!
