At the AHCA Convention in Naples, Fla. last month, coaches were asked
about various aspects of their jobs with these results: The coach who
does the best job under difficult circumstances was BOB DANIELS of
FERRIS STATE. . .The coach you would like to see coach the 1988 U.S.
Olympic Team was JEFF JACKSON of LAKE SUPERIOR. . .If you could win one
game against any coach, it would be RED BERENSON of MEECHIGAN. . .The
best strategist was deemed to be JEFF JACKSON. . .The best recruiter is
SHAWN WALSH of Maine. . .The best assistant coach/recruiter is Grant
Stambrook of Maine. . .The best assistant coach/strategist is Mike Kemp
of Wisconsin. . .The coaching positions most coveted are Wisconsin (14
votes), Michigan (13) and Michigan State (13). . .Which ref would you
want in an NCAA championship game: Frank Cole (Hockey East), Rob Hearn
(ECAC), Greg Shepard (WCHA), Matt Shegos (CCHA). . .Best haircut: Bob
