The following players have been invited to camp in August to try out for
the team that will represent the USA in Albertville, France in February,
1992. A star preceding the player's name means he competed in the
Olympic trials in St Cloud. All teams listed are US college teams unless
a league or country follows in parentheses.

David Quinn has not played organized hockey for about 4 years. He
was forced to give up playing for BU due to a rare blood disease for
which there was no cure. A cure has since been found, and Quinn has been
training for the past year or so in hopes of playing in Albertville.

Lane MacDonald was forced to give up hockey over a year ago after
attempting a pro career in Switzerland. After a heavy hit, he suffers
terrible concussions that cause him headaches for days, and his doctors
advised him to stop playing. He has been assistant coach at Harvard
for a year now. I don't know if he is willing to risk his health to
play for USA in February, but if he's okay and can play it would be a
great boost to Team USA's chances.

The University of Minnesota has the most current and former players
on the list, by my estimation 11. Harvard follows with 7, while
BC and BU each have 6.

The 50 players are from the following states:

Massachusetts 13
Minnesota 12
New York 6
Michigan 4
Rhode Island 4
Connecticut 3
New Jersey 3
Alaska 1
California 1
Illinois 1
Montana 1
Wisconsin 1
