I think you will begin to see the ECAC and HE reach
parity as HE expands. In years past, the 1-4 ECAC
teams have been equal to the 1-4 HE teams, the 5-8
ECAC teams have been equal to the 5-8 HE teams, and
the 9-12 ECAC teams have been... well, there were no
9-12 HE teams, so the ECAC's combined W-L record was
pulled downwards.
If HE is really going to add UConn in a few years, they'll
be up to 10 teams. My belief is that with greater
conference size, HE will see a commensurate dillusion of
talent.
So no, I wouldn't be surprised to see HE rebound with
their Dec/Jan NC games against the ECAC and pull
back to .500.
