Merrimack wasn't undefeated; they were 15-2 in the ECAC East, having
lost at Union, 6-3, on 1/28/89 and at AIC, 5-2, on 2/13/89. The
Bowdoin win gave them a 16-2 record in their final year in the ECAC East,
outscoring the opponents 135-34, and going 27-7 overall. This was the
year I was working simultaneously for Merrimack and Northeastern, and I
missed the ECAC East Championship that you both are discussing because
Northeastern was beating New Hampshire in overtime in the HE q-finals.
It was Merrimack's third straight ECAC East crown.

BTW, Merrimack was 18-4, I believe, when Hrivnak was declared ineligible
and the Warriors went 9-3 the rest of the way with unknowns DalFarra and
Moltenbrey in the nets, including losing their first two DivII games in
three years. They finished 9-5 in DivI.
