Kvalebog named WCHA's defensive player of week
UND sophomore goalie Toby Kvalevog has been named defensive player of
the week in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Kvalevog stopped 69 out of 73 shots over two games as the Sioux swept a
two-game weekend series from Wisconsin.
Kvalevog, from Bemidji, Minn., made 34 saves in Friday's 3-2 overtime
win, then followed that with 35 stops in Saturday's 5-2 Sioux victory.
Over his last three starts in Grand Forks Kvalevog has 3-0 record, 1.31
goals-against average and .959 save percentage.
Named offensive player of the week was St. Cloud State's Kelly
Hultgren, who had two goals and three assists in a two-game sweep of
Minnesota-Duluth.
