Doesn't look like a good night for home teams (only 4 wins in 18 games,
plus 5 ties). Final scores not yet posted:
HOCKEY EAST
UNH 7, at Merrimack 5
MC led 5-3 after two in this tv game that looked more like a horror
flick; box & notes to come.
BU 5, at PC 5 (ot)
PC freshman D Erik Sundquist tied it with 4:09 left.
BC 2, at Northeastern 2 (ot)
BC's Michael Spalla tied it with just 3 seconds left.
ECAC
Yale 4, at Union 2
Just noting the correct score here since Jim gave it both ways in his
post. :-)
Cornell 4, at Vermont 3
Ryan Hughes with the winner.
WCHA
St Cloud 4, at Denver 3
Grant Sjerven was outstanding with 41 saves for SCSU in another tv game.
Minnesota-Duluth 4, at Minnesota 3
Minnesota led 2-1 after two.
at Northern Michigan 4, North Dakota 2
That should do it but for the Alaska scores. Thanks to WLLH's Bob Ellis
and to KBYR whose Low-UAA broadcast I am listening to right now (3-3 in
third; UAF leads Wisconsin 3-2 in the 2nd). Bob gave the scores in between
periods. The advantage of being on the East Coast but having a local team
play in Alaska, I guess. :-)
