I was at both games and what a great weekend of hockey.
Niagara deserves to be Div-1 tomorrow morning. They were one of the better
teams I've seen play in a long time, they're fast, hit hard, great goalies,
good coaching, and cool uniforms. Michigan was lucky to win a game, even
though they outshot Niagara 75-31. Most of MI shots were pretty weak so the
75 looks a little deceptive. If MI had better snipers, they would have walked
away with this weekend.
Niagara took a LOT of stupid penalties and that would be my only concern about
them. Otherwise, they look very good.
MI is loaded with potential but seems to be relying on the FR-SO to do the
scoring. It's time for the seniors and juniors to jump-start the scoring.
O'Mally, MI goalie, deserves to play more than once every 4 games. Red owes
it both to him and the team.
My congrats to the Purple Eagles. I hope that you become a CCHA member soon
so that I can see you play again.
