According to a report in today's Boston Globe, "BU won despite collecting a
Hockey East record for penalty minutes in a period with 56 on 18 infractions
in the third."
Per the box score listed on INFO-HOCKEY-L at Sat, 9 Nov 1996 22:37:19 -0500,
the third period penalties were as follows:
>Penalties
>PC Sheppard (Boarding) 1:55
>BU Quebec (Slashing) 4:35
>PC Omicioli (cross checking) 4:35
>BU Ronan (Holding) 7:32
>Bu Wright (Tripping) 7:40
>PC Gill (Boarding) 11:25
>BU O'Connell (Unsportsmanlike conduct) 12:35
>PC Green (Roughing) 16:51
>BU Ronan (Roughing) 16:51
>BU Alger (Roughing) 17:34
>BU Johnson (Holding) 17:34
>BU Johnson (Roughing) 17:34
>PC Guzior (Roughing) 17:34
>PC Dillabough (Roughing) 17:34
>BU Coleman (Slashing) 18:50
>BU Larocque (Roughing) 19:16 (served by Johnson)
>BU Larocque (Slashing) 19:16 (served by Johnson)
>BU Larocque (High Sticking) 19:16 (served by Johnson)
>BU Bench Minor 19:42
>BU Bench Misconduct 19:42
>BU Walsh (Game Disqualification) 20:00
>BU Johnson (Game Disqualification) 20:00
Note that BU goalie Michel Larocque was assessed with a triple minor, and
that the man serving the penalties, Shane Johnson, was hit with a DQ at the
20:00 mark. Can someone provide me with more details, and when was the last
time a goaltender (or anyone for that matter) was given a triple minor?
How was Johnson chosen to serve Larocque's penalties when he was serving
his own double minor at 17:34? Will Johnson's and Brendan Walsh's DQ's carry
over to Friday against Northeastern?
All this from the guy who stood in defense of the officials yesterday.
