I believe North Dakota's freshman class (152 freshman games) to be one of the
more highly-regarded rookie groups in the WCHA this season. Included are
forward Landon Wilson, a first-round draft choice of Toronto in '93 and the
Sioux's leading scorer with 14-13-27 totals in 27 games (in fact, Wilson could
become the first rookie to lead the Sioux in scoring since Troy Murray in
1980-81 with 33-45-78); forward Kevin Hoogsteen withg 7-11-18 totals in 29
games; forward Brian Zierke with 2-4-6 totals in 17 games; defensemen Dane
Litke and Mark Pivetz, who have both played regularly all season; and goalie
Toby Kvalevog with a 3.95 GAA, 8-13-3 record and .875 save percentage. All in
all it's a pretty good group.
