I was at the game...I didn't see it. I spoke with about 15 people
after the game...NOT ONE of them saw it. Who knows? Knuble
was NOT happy about it.
I assume that the high stick was on BGSU's Jason Clark, who
was in Knuble's face following the whistle.
What I *DID* see was Michigan captain Rick Willis completely
maul a BGSU player behind the play with the score 6-2 and about
7:00-8:00 remaining. [I believe it was Matt Eldred, in which case
it would be justified because Eldred is a total hack. :-] The
linesman made the penalty call...the first time I've seen that
this season [other than too many men]. Strange move by a
captain. Sure, the game *looked* to be in hand, but BGSU
scored on the ensuing power play, cutting the lead to 6-3 and
gaining momentum.
Btw...as for the game, BG controlled the first ten minutes, UM
the next ten, BG the next twenty then UM the final twenty. That's
it in a nutshell.
Final Q from the weekend: What is MSU going to do with #2
goalie Chad Alban...let him grow into his equipment? They
list him at 5-9, but I don't think he could cast a shadow 5-9.
He looks like he's 12. I mentioned to a friend at the UM-MSU
game that his nickname is "Short Dog"...to which he immediately
replied that it should be "Short Pup" until he reaches puberty. :-)
[Seriously, Alban's equipment...particularly his helmet/mask...
looks about two sizes too large.]
