But first the hockey quote of the day.
New York Rangers goaltender and former UW player Mike Richter,
on Rangers coach Mike Keenan's habit of removing goalies during games:
"That's why there is a five-day waiting period on buying guns."

I was pleased to hear that Venky, Charlie, Mike, etc were impressed
by Jason Zent's performance in the East-West all-star game. Now Jason
probably wasn't really so bad that he deserves to have the penalty
box at the Dane County Coliseum named after himself. However, he
was a very consistent visitor to that seating area. Not to mention that
he did pick up a spectacular game suspension or two. Does anyone
remember that he scored a hat trick in the hotly contested 5-3 loss to
LSSU in the 1992 championship?
Does anyone keep career penalty minute records? Is Zent close to the
Wisc career record? This seems like a worthwhile topic for the offseason
here on hockey-L.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to provide my usual spelling flame
service for the next week or two while you are discussing this.
I will be taking a little vacation, visiting that warm weather spring
paradise ...
Ithaca, NY. Has the snow melted there yet? Any forecast for this
upcoming week? (Where are all the weather postings when you need them?)
And finally what should I bring as a present for my ever gracious hosts:
a) beer,
b) cheese,
c) bratwurst,
d) Wisconsin Rose Bowl paraphernalia marked at 60% off, or
e) anything but (d).
