Ryan Kraft, of Moorhead, Minnesota, has indicated to Gopher coach
Doug Woog that he will sign a letter of intent. In accepting the
Minnesota scholarship, Kraft is turning down scholarship offers from
the University of North Dakota and Notre Dame. Kraft, who helped
lead Moorhead High School to second and third place finishes in the
last two Minnesota state tournaments, is strong and very fast. A
center who was moved to wing this year, he has a hard, quick shot,
and is an excellent playmaker. Kraft is also, by the way, an
excellent student, with an academic record that would earn
admission to any school in the country. Asked why he chose the
University of Minnesota, Kraft said, "It's just where I always wanted
to go." Just another Minnesota kid who wants to play for the gophers.
