Yes I went to Boston to watch the RPI - BU Hockey game. And what a
game it was. RPI pulled it out for the first time in many years(and at BU).
OH MY!!!!. This time they actually looked like a Nationally Ranked team.
I'm not very good with details, but here it is......
RPI went ahead 19 minutes into the first with a goal from Tim
Regan. RPI had blown another 5 minute power play by almost matching it with 2
minors(but that is another story). Early in the 2nd period Kelly Askew
nailled a shot over the BU goalie's left shoulder. I was right
behind the net. The shot seemed to be in the air for a few hours(I've
seen far too many movies like "The Natural" and "The Might Ducks"). A very
pretty shot.
Early in the 3rd period.....BU scored. RPI set up a
beautiful play with a pass from the red line to the blue line and quickly the
score is 3-1. Not too much longer, Xavier Majic steals the puck at the blue
line and skates, shoots, SCORES. 4-1. The large contingency of RPI fans went
wild. And to wrap it up BU score once more, but it was too little too late.
