Mike questioned what tournament Union will play in next year. From what I've
heard, Union will not continue play in the RPI Invitational. I expect that
Union will continue to host the Achilles Tournament, which would take care of 2
of the non-league games right there. That leaves only 1 other date to fill,
probably either against a Div III rival or maybe against a HE team. Hopefully,
Union will be able to increase the number of GP in coming years. I agree that
it will be tough getting any post season consideration while playing only 3
non-league games. I hope that in the future, the people here at Union who
decide this type of thing will push to increase the number of non-league games
Union is allowed to play. It shouldn't cause many problems academically,
especially if these games can be scheduled over the December break.

I definitely agree that playing against the better teams is a huge benefit even
if the team loses. Even in the blowout loss to RPI this year, Union
benefitted. They used that experience to come back and beat Alaska-Fairbanks
the next night. After the tournament, Union has lost only 1 Division III game
and has tied 2.
