Not only that, in the last three years, the consensus #1-ranked team in the
NC$$ hasn't even made it to the Phinal Phour. In 1990, Michigan State was
knocked off in the quarterfinals by Boston University in three games. The
next year, Clarkson beat #1-ranked Lake Superior in the quarterfinals, two
games to one. Then last year, Michigan State upset Maine. Not a good trend
for the #1-ranked Black Bears this season, although it should make the
Clarkson and Minnesota fans happy.
