ON UMICH/MSU COMMENTS...
Sorry, folks, I forgot to run the ole' spell checker...Maybe I was
thinking about the various beach balls flying around Yost Friday
when I listed Ouimet's penalty as "sphering..."  Spearing is indeed
the penalty...(and if you saw him do it John, then I agree with your
"jeers."  Such use of the stick is disgraceful and I'll stand behind
_any_ suspension for _any_ player who does such things.)
 
ON THE SUMMARY...
I have been informed that MSU's lone goal was scored by Harper (his
7th) rather than Woodward.  I apologize.  My box came from
_The_Michigan_Daily_ with which one can never rely on for accuracy.
As for Sittler's mystery assist, John, if I remember correctly, the
Stiver goal at 17:46 of the first was assisted only by Roberts.
 
ON THE OFFICIATING...
Rutherford and LaDuke?  It's too bad we fans never hear what their
supervisors say after games such as Friday's...  I'd be curious as
to what kind of reprimands/lessons/etc. such performances would get.
BTW, I saw LaDuke wearing those orange stripes for a Jr. Red Wing
(OHL) game at the Joe last week.  I sure hope he does a better job
for them...
