In Mariucci Arena the Minnesota Rouser is played when the Gophers take the
ice, and also after every goal. The Rouser is the best known of the several
fight songs of the University of Minnesota. I believe that all of other schools
in the WCHA have traditional collegiate fight songs that are played when their
teams skate onto the ice.
Is the practice of adopting a piece of contemporary rock music as a fight
song unique to eastern schools? I'd never heard of such a thing until Clarkson
played here in the NCAA playoffs last season.
