TEAM-BY-TEAM REPORT:
CANISIUS (6-3): The Ice Griffs improved to 6-3 on the season with a 7-4
victory over Holy Cross. Junior Josh Oort led the way with 2 goals and
3 assists. Canisius jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Holy Cross tied
the game at 4-4 after two periods. The third was all Canisius,
however, who scored 3 goals to put the game away. The Griffs host
Brockport on Tuesday before traveling to Elmira for a key conference
 matchup on Saturday.

ELMIRA (8-1): The Soaring Eagles improved to an impressive 8-1 as they
bested Bently and host Colby to win the Colby Tournament. On Friday,
Elmira had an easy time defeating Bently 10-4, but Saturday's game
against Colby was a wild affair. It was 2-0 Colby going into the
third period before a spurt of goals by both squads, capped off by an
Elmira goal with 35 seconds left, left the game at 4-4 at then end of
regulation. The Soaring Eagles won the game on freshman Adrian Saul's
goal at 5:12 of overtime. Elmira hosts Canisius on Saturday.

HOBART (2-6-1): The Statesmen defeated Holy Cross on home ice for their
second win of the year. The resurgent Statesman make a mid-week swing
through New England as they face Babson on Tuesday and Skidmore on Wednesday.

MERCYHURST (5-4-1) : The Lakers played St. Norbert of the NCHA about
as close as you can, tying the Green Knights on Friday and then losing
5-4 on Saturday. They meet Niagara for the third time on Saturday -
this time it will be an all-important ECAC West conference game.

NIAGARA (8-6): The Purple Eagles had a reality check in Plattsburgh,
losing to the host Cardinals and to Norwich by a combined score of
13-5. Niagara is hoping to get on track in their barn (where they are
5-0) against RIT on Friday before traveling to Mercyhurst on Saturday.

RIT (5-1-1) : The Tigers suffered their first loss of the season to the
host Cardinals in the championship game of the Plattsburgh Tournament.
The day before the Tigers defeated Norwich 3-1 to reach the finals.
RIT goaltender Jamie Morris made 92 saves on the weekend (6 goals
allowed) including 56 in the loss to Plattsburgh. Forward Steve Toll
