According to the papers, Wisconsin signed three recruits on Friday, all
defensemen:
 
Mike LaPlante, 6-1, 180 pounds, played with with the Calgary Junior A
Royals in the Alberta Junior Hockey League for the past two years.
LaPlante was an AJHL all-star, scoring six goals and 28 assists in 54
games last season.
 
Luke Gruden, 6-0, 190 pounds, played for the Green Bay Gamblers of the
USHL.
 
Tim Rothering, 6-0, 180 pounds, played for the Kelowna Spartans in the
British Columbia Junior Hockey League. He scored four goals and 32
assists in 59 games last season.
