The Deuce spotlighted BU's Mike Grier on Friday's edition of "NHL
2Nite." The segment was entitled "Mike Grier: Skating Through
Stereotypes" and featured interviews with Mike, his parents, and BU coach
Jackie Parker. Mike was compared to Jackie Robinson for being a pioneer
as he will most likely be the first African-American in the NHL who was
born and trained in the U.S. There were pictures of Mike as a kid
playing hockey in Holliston, MA as well as shots of him playing for the
Terriers. Although the piece looked into the prejudice and stereotypes
that Mike has had to face, the real focus was on his ability as a hockey
player.

There was also brief footage of UML's win over NE tonight, and the trivia
question of the night was how many former BU players are currently in the
NHL (The answer the Deuce gave was nine).

Let's hope the Deuce continues this kind of coverage. It was great to
see even a little bit of hockey on TV since we don't have any games to
go to here in Los Angeles.
